This insect is not considered a pest as it doesnt carry any known diseases, however it does appear in fly traps and would obviously be an unwanted additive to food production sites.
They are 10mm in length and have an interchangeable outer skin. It changes from a lime green shade during the summer to a yellow brown colour in the winter.
Lacewing flies live in areas of tall grass, herbaceous plants, trees, fields, hedges, and at the edge of woodland areas. In the colder months they also hibernate inside buildings.
